Title: Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Location: Hybrid - majority of work will be remote, but must be based in the Washington, DC metro area and available to manage physical security files in Navanti’s Arlington office.

Background:
Navanti Group is seeking a part-time Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee all personnel security functions related to our Top Secret facility clearance (FCL). This role ensures compliance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) regulations and maintains security readiness for our cleared personnel. The ideal candidate must be based in the D.C. area and have experience managing security clearances, training, and compliance under National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage personnel security clearances (PCLs), including initiating, processing, and maintaining clearances.
- Conduct security briefings, annual training, and foreign travel reporting for cleared personnel.
- Utilize security systems such as DISS, NCAIS, NISS, NBIS, SPOT, and ACCS to manage personnel security records.
- Handle onboarding and offboarding of cleared personnel, ensuring compliance with debriefing and clearance transfer protocols as well as ensuring proper language in employment agreements and independent contractor agreements.
- Maintain and update security policies to ensure compliance with DoD, DCSA, and NISPOM requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with DCSA, government security officials, and other relevant agencies.
- Prepare for and manage security audits, inspections, and self-assessments.
- Maintain and manage physical security files in Navanti’s Arlington office, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with record retention policies.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship required and must possess and maintain an active Top Secret clearance.
- Prior experience as an FSO, AFSO, or security professional managing an FCL under DCSA regulations.
- Strong proficiency in DISS, NCAIS, NISS, NBIS, SPOT, ACCS, and other personnel security systems.
- Strong understanding of NISPOM, DoD security policies, and FCL requirements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and compliance management skills.
- Experience working with cleared staff and contractors across the globe in various international locations / time zones.
