Project/Team: Support Services, Defense
Location: Client Site – Tampa, FL (relocation package available for candidates outside of the Tampa area)
Background:
Navanti has an immediate need for a Data Scientist to support a DoD client on site. The ideal candidate will specific expertise with coding in R language.
Necessary Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with programming languages, including R, Python, or C++
- Experience working with structured, unstructured, or semi-structured data in support of scientific or economic analysis
- Experience cleansing data for data science applications
- Experience programming/coding mathematical models
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, testing, and version control
- Experience with data visualization tools and best practices
- Ability to quickly learn new skillsets to solve challenging problems
- Ability to prioritize multiple work tasks, deliver products on time, within, and to quality standards
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Special Operations or DoD organizations
- Experience processing (NLP)
- Experience designing, developing, or leveraging relational databases (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MS SQL
- Experience with web development frameworks, including Shiny, Django, or Flask
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, or data lake houses
- Experience with cloud services, including AWS or Azure
- Experience working in an Agile development environment collaborating with Application Developers, Infrastructure Engineers, and stakeholders
- Experience with CI/CD, including Git, Jenkins, and Docker
- using and deploying machine learning algorithms, including natural language
Education:
- Minimum of a BA/BS in related area of study
Clearance:
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance preferred, minimum of SECRET required
